Serpentine due West

I became fascinated by the challenge of painting a scene lit by moonlight and this is the last piece available from the series. It shows the view across the Serpentine in London UK, looking west towards a line of trees with streetlights peeping through and reflecting in the water, creating a calm and atmospheric scene. The initial sketches were done in charcoal on site to be worked up later in layers of acrylics on a stretched canvas using glazes to recreate the subtle changes in tone and colour. This piece is sold in a custom made tray frame made from a simple wood moulding, similar to other pieces shown here on my profile.
