Reviews:

Mike and Conrad did a great and efficient job and I had to trust them as I had no idea how you got a back-wall mural over a pool executed . The mural matched the image he showed us beforehand ; they kept the place clean and tidy and were very friendly and easy going. When the family expands they will be back to add more animals ! They are great at Australian natives and I highly recommend the experience . Everyone who sees it is amazed

Love painting with oils on canvas, drawing, sketching and fine art and illustration. In terms of size, the smallest acceptable canvas is 30x40cm, the largest is up to 100cmx90cm. I love painting cityscapes and landscapes, portraits and abstracts. I'm very versatile and experienced, having been doing this for quite a while. I will send updates and progress pics but I'm happy for you to set the level of communication required. Above all else, love jobs where I can be imaginative and creative to bring ideas life. I will always provide a free quote before starting work, which details everything included, such as materials, labour, delivery cost &c. In terms of budget: terms are a 20% deposit for the initial design (i.e. the drawing, for example on canvas) and I require the 80% outstanding amount to start painting. I calculate the quote based on cost of materials, labour and BAA's cut + tax, so as a rule of thumb, the larger and more complex the project, the higher the cost and vice versa. When your project is complete you can decide whether to have it delivered or pick it up from my studio. An oil painting can literally last for centuries and it represents the best of us, the finest emotions, experiences, memories and feelings in life; it is a beautiful object to treasure for many years to come. By commissioning local, independent artists like me through Book An Artist, you directly support the artist and a wider community of artists too! Contact me for a free quote.

Reviews:

Steve couldn’t have produced a better project for us. He took the time to capture some great angles of our streetscape, valued our input and gave us updates every step of the way. The painting was even better than we hoped for and completed in a very timely fashion. Would thoroughly recommend.

Very happy I found this inclusive artist for representation of POC, femme characters, Australian animals and other ad hoc requests for a passion project. She answered my questions on the process, pricing (we only had a quote, not a contract so some of the details came up along the way) and has a great IG that shows versatile work, which is very comforting against a wave of AI slop online. Thanks you and I look forward to spotting your murals in our beautiful city!

Melbourne Painters & Canvas Artists

Canvas painting is a popular form of art in Melbourne. The city is home to a thriving art scene, with many galleries and studios showcasing the work of local artists. Canvas painting is a versatile medium that allows artists to create a wide range of styles and subjects, from traditional landscapes and portraits to abstract and modern paintings.
The Book An Artist platform allows customers to hire a canvas artist or canvas painters in Melbourne for custom canvas art. These can be created in various mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, or digital art. View an artist's work and contact them to discuss a commission. Custom painting pricing can vary depending on the size, medium, and complexity of the piece.
Canvas painting is a vibrant and exciting part of the art scene in Melbourne, and offers both artists and art enthusiasts many opportunities to explore and appreciate this wall art.

Types of Canvas Prints Melbourne Wall Art and More

Some popular subjects for custom paintings in Melbourne include portrait art, these can be of people, a pet portrait, or even objects.
Landscape painting or nature paintings, this can include natural landscapes, such as mountains, forests, oceans (wave paintings), lakes and sunset paintings.
Still life paintings, inanimate objects such as flower art, fruits, and other objects arranged in a specific setting.
Fantasy art, this usually includes but isn't limited to child-friendly artwork. Cartoons, bunnies, unicorns, butterfly paintings or horse paintings can make great additions to a kid's bedroom.
Abstract paintings, the opposite of realism art, abstract art is a style of painting that does not depict a specific subject but rather focuses on color, shape, and form to create abstract art.

Canvas art styles

Artists and their styles have continuously changed throughout history. Classic painting turned to impressionist paintings and industrial art had its peak before even more styles came into the picture.
A game changer for the art community was between the 1930's to 1960's. Mid century modern art was a time of social and cultural change. Artists began to experiment with new forms and break away from class painting and industrial art. This art style was characterised by its simple line art, black and white art, geometric shapes and particularly bold colours.
Creating art is a lot more accessible now which is why there is so much indie art. Independent artists, sketch artists and doodle artists often work outside of the mainstream art world and may have a unique or unconventional approach to their art and sketches.

Canvas painting medium

Canvas paintings can be created using a variety of mediums, each with their own unique characteristics and techniques. The most popular mediums are oil paint and acrylic paint. Oil painting is known for its rich, vibrant colors and the ability to create a wide range of textures and effects. Acrylic paint can create a wide range of effects and can be thinned or thickened to create different textures. Acrylic paintings can also be varnished sooner than oil paintings.
Other medium options include watercolour art, pastel painting and gouache painting. All of which have differing application processes and drying time.

Custom wall art and paintings in Melbourne

Melbourne wall paintings can be created for a variety of settings, such as homes, offices, or commercial spaces. They can also be created as gifts for special occasions, such as birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries.
Ultimately, where you hang a canvas wall art depends on the size and style of the painting, as well as the room and the purpose of the space. For example, living room wall art should compliment your furniture or act as a statement piece.
When hanging framed art, it's important to consider the lighting in the room and to make sure the framed painting is at eye level to ensure the best viewing experience. It's also important to make sure the painting is securely hung and won't fall. Discover canvas art Melbourne has to offer.
