Commissioned by the Folio Society for their collectable version of the Anna Sewell children's book Black Beauty 2018.
Inspired by the scene where Black Beauty refuses to cross a broken bridge flooded during a storm, this image began as a watercolour which I scanned into Photoshop to make modifications to the tonal balance and add further detail
