Fierce Fashion Sydney Pimbley
Taken from a spontaneous photograph of fashion designer Sydney Pimbley, who I shared studio space with at the time, I enjoyed the contrast of her fierce personal styling and the apparently domestic activity of sewing. This A3 piece has been painted in canvas on linen board with elements of the original image selected out to add to the flatness of the background, and the linen surface has been left bare to indicate the fabric being sewn (and as a personal challenge to myself).

London, United KingdomIf you look around you now, you will see words and symbols, and not everyone can use both effectively. Using my artistic skills to help people express themselves is what I find rewarding. If you can put it into words, I can paint the picture - or the portrait. Or design the illustration you need for your project, or inspire an audience by sketching a performance live before their eyes, or fill your window with a temporary whitewash that doubles as art.
