This piece is from a series of paintings that feature the same view under different weather conditions at a selection of times throughout the day and was painted in a temporary studio in the very heart of London occupied during Covid - you can see St Paul’s Cathedral in the distance.
In this version the tree is just coming into bloom; I began the piece in the winter and was able to witness this phenomenon as it developed over time.
