Happy Day with Dad by Hamley Jenkins in London
Happy Day with Dad
This drawing was based on a favourite photo of a memorable day that the client's wife had with her Dad, now passed away, and is intended as a gift for her birthday. The client favoured a drawing in charcoal pencil similar to my previous project, Drinks with Dad, and requested that the original beer in the photo was replaced with a can of John Smiths and that the features of his wife be updated with reference to more recent photos supplied.
Included here too is the rough drawing supplied to the client to give him an idea of the composition and colour of the final piece.

London, United KingdomIf you look around you now, you will see words and symbols, and not everyone can use both effectively. Using my artistic skills to help people express themselves is what I find rewarding. If you can put it into words, I can paint the picture - or the portrait. Or design the illustration you need for your project, or inspire an audience by sketching a performance live before their eyes, or fill your window with a temporary whitewash that doubles as art.
