A loving embrace between a mum and son based on a photo quickly taken before they each go off for a busy day. I altered the background that was in the photo to keep the composition strong. I love the rainbow of colour this composition became.

Meet the Artist
Sunshine Coast, AustraliaI grew up in Victoria and went to Ballarat Uni for a while, then travelled and painted all over Europe and ended up marrying a perfect Dutch bloke in the Netherlands. Needless to say that the art climate over in the Netherlands is much different from that in Australia, and I joined some interesting artistic movements in my time there.
In 1997 I finally managed to convince my husband to move to Australia and we have been in Brisbane and later on the beautiful Sunshine Coast ever since.
I paint landscapes, nature and portraits, but open to other subjects if the need arises.
I especially love portraits of children, as it practically makes me smile all the while I am working on them.
Lastly, my wonderful husband has (finally) turned his hands to framing, so all my paintings are now starting to look even more fabulous, and we will offer the option of a frame with all commissions.
