Happy Mothers Day Shiralee
This portrait of four is painted with the exquisite attention to detail and warmth this artist has become known for. The subjects are faithfully rendered and life-like. The strength of the composition with its stark contrasting blacks provides depth, drama and volume. Having confirmed the recipients favourite colours, the artist has again diverged from the original reference photo to create a customised work of art. The greys of concrete stairs become bands of aesthetic graphic in aqua and purple.
The client wanted words on the painting. Happy Mothers Day and We All Love You. Rosemary has transformed the words into a couple more Mothers Day gifts by draping jewellery with the words over the corners in trompe l'oeil style. Another gem of a work of art by this highly collectable artist.

Meet the Artist
Sunshine Coast, AustraliaI grew up in Victoria and went to Ballarat Uni for a while, then travelled and painted all over Europe and ended up marrying a perfect Dutch bloke in the Netherlands. Needless to say that the art climate over in the Netherlands is much different from that in Australia, and I joined some interesting artistic movements in my time there.
In 1997 I finally managed to convince my husband to move to Australia and we have been in Brisbane and later on the beautiful Sunshine Coast ever since.
I paint landscapes, nature and portraits, but open to other subjects if the need arises.
I especially love portraits of children, as it practically makes me smile all the while I am working on them.
Lastly, my wonderful husband has (finally) turned his hands to framing, so all my paintings are now starting to look even more fabulous, and we will offer the option of a frame with all commissions.
