About
I am an acrylic artist, born in the Mississippi Delta, but who now lives in Houston, TX. My father, a freelance photographer among other things, taught me to draw a camera from a circle, two squares and a rectangle. I thought it was the most amazing thing. At the age of five, I was able to draw a camera like a professional! I continued to draw and paint throughout childhood, majored in Fine Arts in college (then switched my major) and continued to teach art classes at the small school where I work. I started attempting a professional path in art during Covid and have been working ever since. My work reflects my upbringing, heritage, and culture. Paintings live in my head, then on canvas, and then I never think about them again. I get to manifest a vision long kept, then touch it outside of my mind. Art is something my father gave me and instructed me on how to give it to the world.
