Mr. Jazz by Monifa in Houston

I saw a really amazing black and white photo of Miles Davis online somewhere and I remembered my first introduction to his music. Growing up, my father listened to jazz, classical, country and folk music, so I had a special place in my heart for musicians from these genres. So, I created the painting from acrylic paints, based on the image I saw and the music I heard as a little girl. The notes and movement instructions are from "Bitches Brew", and his horn is coming from the corner, always right over his shoulder.
