Wood Nymph
The first in a series of pieces that I painted to capture both power and fantasy. I experimented with colour in a way which allowed me to truly capture the strength and vibrance of my subjects. The Wood Sprite is the all-knowing, whose unique white eyes see all, sensing and preventing danger and challenge. Her striking appearance and ephemeral body suggest a presence on an other-worldly plane of existence, materialising as a watchful oracle to protect and caution her kin.
