This was the second mural I created for a HolaKids, a Learning In Action Program and Spanish immersion preschool. This is their Laurel Heights, San Francisco location. The client and owner of the program requested California Poppy flowers and I added my own touch with "Laurel" flowers, the native flower to the area of San Francisco. This school is also within a public playground, so I was surrounded by buzzing children and families as I painted this mural, which brought inspiring energy of curiosity and innocence that I had a deep appreciation for.
The mural was painted in aerosol paint and touches of black acrylic paint/brushwork. The background color gradient is inspired by the natural color gradients of the sky/sunsets in San Francisco.
STATEMENT
I am a fine artist and muralist based in California. I love exaggerating color and finding palettes that mimic colors that make up our natural world. I am currently inspired to create surrealist landscapes including sunsets, mountains, skyscapes, and imaginary dimensions within the clouds. I often develop a deeper meaning connected to consciousness and spirituality.
