Glitter Path by Natalie Gabriel in San Diego

“Glitter Path” began a new method, a new medium, and a new internal resource for my work. My journey as an artist has been largely developed in creating likeness and realism that requires photo references. The imagery for “Glitter Path” was where I began to develop imagery from an internal vision. I love exploring atmospheric perspective and the way it can be simply communicated in how a mountain range gets lighter and cooler in color as it recedes futher back into space. These are views I observe in my daily life and inspire visions that sit comfortably in my subconscious. The design for “glitter path” came naturally as I worked with the landscape composition a skateboard provides. A glitter path is a light that shines across a body of water created by the moon or sun and as I put the final touches on this piece, painting the light on the water brought the piece to a point of completion for me based entirely on my intuition. This piece was painted entirely in aerosol paint with resin.
