In creating this mural, my initial inspiration was rooted in the dynamic color palette of the house. The contrast between the white trims and the deep dark color created the perfect opportunity for an eye-catching mural in grayscale. My typical style involves a lot of vibrant colors and I was excited about a simple but elegant palette. The idea to incorporate touches of copper to match the real copper trimmings on the outside of the home was the perfect amount of intricacy that would allow for this mural to really “shine.” The most satisfying part was taking the liquid copper color to the wall and seeing the mural pop once the metallic outlines touched the matte spray paint.
The design was a direct evolution of one of my most recent works “Glitter Path.” Even though “Glitter Path” is rooted in a color palette that is created by sunsets, which are a huge inspiration for me, as the sky changes colors all day and provides a show for the world every night. I knew the monochromatic gray palette would create a more cosmic feel to the entire piece. Is it a sun rising, a sun setting, or a moon rising, that is up to you.
STATEMENT
I am a fine artist and muralist based in California. I love exaggerating color and finding palettes that mimic colors that make up our natural world. I am currently inspired to create surrealist landscapes including sunsets, mountains, skyscapes, and imaginary dimensions within the clouds. I often develop a deeper meaning connected to consciousness and spirituality.
