Cheba Hut Mural Project: VW Bus by Shane Grammer Arts` in Los Angeles

In October 2024, I had the exciting opportunity to create two vibrant murals for the new Cheba Hut location in Ontario, CA. The murals were designed to reflect the fun, laid-back personality of the Cheba Hut brand while adding a visually stunning and unique touch to their space. The first mural features a classic VW bus, an iconic symbol of freedom and adventure, while the second showcases a towering fourteen foot tall blue parrot, one of the brand’s playful mascots. These murals were brought to life with a bold and colorful palette, and special attention was given to lighting design. Working closely with the owners and the lighting designer, we ensured that the murals truly come alive at night, glowing with vibrant hues that add energy and charm to the space. The animation-inspired, Pixar-style design adds a whimsical and approachable feel, drawing in both visitors and passersby. The response from both the owners and the public has been overwhelmingly positive. The murals have not only enhanced the atmosphere of Cheba Hut but have also become a focal point for the community, bringing joy and excitement to the area. This project was a rewarding experience that showcases the power of art to transform spaces.
