DoMo Walls - Downtown Modesto, California - Street Murals by Shane Grammer Arts` in Los Angeles

In September of 2022, Shane was asked to participate in Downtown Modesto’s Mural Festival. The muralist painting on the wall next to Shane had decided to execute an Asian-inspired tiger in bold purples and greens. Shane wanted his piece to compliment the mural situated adjacent to his, so he decided to paint one of his iconic, street-art inspired, floral engulfed beauties, but chose to use an Asian model and surrounded her with cherry blossoms on a metallic golden sun that adds a new dimension of shifting light that changes the experience of the piece depending on the hour of the day. Shane used a juxtaposition of soft realism and graphic elements to create the dramatic thirty-five foot by thirty-five foot piece, drawing attention to the push and pull between the simplicity of outlines, use of negative space, bold colors, hard edges, and soft contours.
