About
Hello! My name is Kina and I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Ottawa, Ontario. That basically means that I make art in all sorts of ways. I love to draw, paint and design. I received my BFA with distinction from the University of Concordia in Montreal in 2009. These days, I do a mix of teaching as well as painting colourful canvases in both acrylics and oils. I also do paint-along parties for public and private events. I'm great with children and love to teach all ages. I am bilingual (French) though I prefer to teach in English. I have decades of experience in graphic design and enjoy putting my art on stationery, stickers, clothing & prints. I'm also very adept at web design, print design and publication (such as magazines, photo editing, flyers, and websites). I work all over the place. I can be found painting at my studio, as a member of the Loft Art Studios collective located in Little Italy in Ottawa. I teach part time at the Ottawa School of Art Orleans Campus, as well as the Beacon Hill Craft Club. I spend a good deal of time working from home, as well as on location for private events. You can find me at the Ottawa Art Gallery once a month, hosting Artawa (.ca) which I founded with my partner Bradley Forney in November 2016.

Creating together is a fun way to build great memories and a sense of community. Whether it be for a birthday party, team building or a corporate event, I have plenty of experience teaching groups large and small both in person and through ZOOM, as well as access to the best supplies. $400 covers up to 20 attendees, after 20, additional fees per person apply to cover cost of materials.

Make your own custom buttons or magnets!
Button and magnet making for all ages and skill levels! Experiment with a variety of different media to create an assortment of pin-back buttons and/or magnets. Using everything from drawing, painting, paper craft, stickers, painting, stamps, mixed media, collage and fabric you will be guided in creating a collection of beautifully unique - and useful - objects of art. Options include creating either pin back buttons or magnets in both 1.25” and 2.5” sizes. Learn about creating and following templates as well as hands on knowledge on how to operate two different sizes of button making machines. Typically 3 hours - includes time for set up and clean up/tear down as well as a short break $400 covers up to 12 attendees.
