About 13 years ago I requested one of my favorite pieces of artwork, The Old Guitarist by Picasso done in Hugo’s style, and Hugo did not disappoint. My only regret is that I did not request an original, particularly a piece from his cigar series. His esthetic evokes for me the beauty of melancholy, resilience, and grit. It encourages me to see struggle as a labor of love rather than something to dread. Lately his work has included wonderful use of color and I’m hopeful that soon I’ll be in the market for another piece.

I couldn’t be prouder of my brother, Hugo Medina, and the incredible art he creates. His talent is nothing short of extraordinary, and through the years, his work has brought endless joy to our family. Watching him turn ideas into breathtaking masterpieces has been a privilege—his passion, dedication, and creativity shine through in every piece. Hugo’s website, Hugo’s Art, is a testament to his artistic journey, showcasing the depth and brilliance of his work. Whether it’s a powerful mural, a delicate portrait, or a thought-provoking abstract piece, his art speaks to people in a way that words cannot. He has an uncanny ability to capture emotion, movement, and meaning, making every piece feel alive. As his brother, I’ve had the honor of seeing his growth as an artist firsthand, and I can say without a doubt that his work is something special. His creativity has not only inspired me but has also brought our family closer together, filling our lives with beauty and inspiration. Hugo Medina is not just an artist—he’s a visionary, and I can’t wait to see how his art continues to touch the world.
