Can you spot the wing of the Copper Butterfly or a Notoncus Ant? This contemporary and vibrant concept explores a closer look of the many wonderful things that make Montmorency unique. Inspired by the site, stylised organic shapes reference the local wildlife and native plants including those documented by the Montmorency Biodiversity Group. If you take a moment you may see the flower of an apple berry climber or tiny geranium, a pair of antennas or the water from a winding creek. Playful patterns mimic the flight path of a butterfly, a cocooned caterpillar and the markings found on the face of the sugar glider. Concept commissioned by Banyule Council.

Meet the Artist

Hoffy

Melbourne, Australia

Hoffy is a multidisciplinary designer and artist, based from her home studio in the Artisan Hills of North East Melbourne, Australia. Inspired by her love and colour and pattern, Jess’s paintings, digital illustration, commercial projects and large scale murals explore her curiosity of nature and imagination, deconstructing everyday observations into abstracted organic forms to create bold, playful works of art. With a background in graphic design, Jess compliments this work with a contemporary approach to her art. She has exhibited in group shows nationally, facilitated workshops as an artist in residence in schools and created artwork for clients including Metro Tunnel, Down Syndrome Victoria, Workday, Adairs, Haymes Paint and more.
