Inspired by Valley Youth’s diversity, creativity, and community spirit, this mural was brought to life through co-design workshops with local young people. Bold and colourful, the palette draws from the inclusive welcome posters in the entry hall, subtly creating a rainbow that sweeps across the building’s exterior. The design celebrates different people coming together, with elements and shapes stemming from our conversations and sketches. Among the imagery you’ll find native flora like White Gum Tree leaves representing local landscapes, the Maribynong River, forms and markings from the Spotted Marsh Frog, while a milk splash symbolises social coffee culture and a group of people holding hands signify community unity.
