Carnegie Private Residence by Hoffy in Melbourne

Private mural commissioned at an original 30's style private residence in Carnegie. The brief was to the back garden to life with an abstract botanical theme, a degree of boldness, large shapes and some intricate work referencing colours from the house and garden. The overall design is made of layering large stylised shapes and textures, referencing the smoke bush and other botanical elements from the surrounding garden along with some organic, free flowing forms. For the colours I referenced the dusty pink from the smoke bush flowers, dark burgundy and orange from the foliage, lavender from the purple flowers found in the front yard and amber tones in the beautiful stained glass windows. Worked in with some darker earthy greens and blues for contrast and to ground the playful pops or orange and green.
