The Neighborhood by Tra’ in Houston

This “mini-mural” was part of a city-wide initiative in which place artists painted signal control boxes throughout the city of Houston. I painted 20 in total with this being one of the most popular. This was created for an all girls school and I worked with the students and faculty on the design elements. I chose to represent four main demographics from the neighborhood in which the school resides. For each side I selected a woman, animal and recognizable fabric patterns relating to each demographic I chose. I used latex paint and brushes to complete this project. Size: 36”(4sides)x72”.
