The End Of A Working Day
I work from home in my studio. I found this old photo and I just had to paint it. It reminds me of England where I come from, and where, at the end of a working day, a man arrives home or goes to the pub and enjoys that very first beer of the day. Mostly, I enjoyed painting the old, run down leather chair. To me, they seem to $650go together. A hard working life in an old chair that's seen a hard life. Painted in oils the painting is 16" x 20" on block canvas

Meet the Artist
Waihi, New ZealandI am a Hauraki, New Zealand based portrait artist using oils, acrylics, charcoal and graphite. I paint on block canvases or use acid free paper that can be mounted and framed, or unframed for you to make your own choice of mount and frame. I love meeting new people of any culture from any country, and have worked in a variety of health related and legal positions in NZ and other countries. Portrait painting to me allows me to bring out the real person, not just the person they are in every day life. It's an honour for me to paint them. I work from photos. I have been an animator for Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toons, have painted billboards for a beauty products company, designed T-shirts for children and given talks on art to the local college and an art class. I've also won awards for my art. I have loved painting and drawing since I was old enough to pick up a pencil or crayon. Art transports me when I am working, nothing else exists. I have completed a number of commission over the last few years
