Two Men At A Bus Stop
I just love the silent communication going on between these two, totally different men. The elderly man listening to music, dressed in a suit, carrying a briefcase - where is he going, where does he work if he does? The skinhead, smiling at the man's indifference to the world. I believe he respects him, two totally different characters, a chance meeting waiting for the bus. What's going through the skinhead's mind when looking at the old geezer (as we'd say in England) Painted in oils on block canvas, 16" x 12"
I am a Hauraki, New Zealand based portrait artist using oils, acrylics, charcoal and graphite. I paint on block canvases or use acid free paper that can be mounted and framed, or unframed for you to make your own choice of mount and frame. I love meeting new people of any culture from any country, and have worked in a variety of health related and legal positions in NZ and other countries. Portrait painting to me allows me to bring out the real person, not just the person they are in every day life. It's an honour for me to paint them. I work from photos. I have been an animator for Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toons, have painted billboards for a beauty products company, designed T-shirts for children and given talks on art to the local college and an art class. I've also won awards for my art. I have loved painting and drawing since I was old enough to pick up a pencil or crayon. Art transports me when I am working, nothing else exists. I have completed a number of commission over the last few years
