RESTAURANT-Luckys Diner
I was commissioned to create a vibrant retro-style mural for a smash burger restaurant located upstairs on Ocean Street in South Shields. The brief was to capture the bold, playful energy of the brand while incorporating subtle elements of the local Shields heritage into the background.
Working closely with the client, I received a selection of existing images which I digitally reworked to create a more cohesive and visually striking composition. The final mural design was both fun and nostalgic, aligning perfectly with the venue’s atmosphere.
Although the project took longer than originally anticipated, it was a joy to bring this unique piece to life — a perfect blend of creative freedom, technical challenge, and local pride. The finished mural is bold, dynamic, and full of character.
Meet the Artist
Tena, EcuadorFrom a young age, I discovered my artistic talents and honed my skills in drawing and painting. Throughout my school and university days, I delved into the technical aspects of these arts. However, it was after graduation that I truly found my calling in visionary, graphic, abstract, and mural art. In 1999, I became an Art & Design teacher. This rewarding experience allowed me to share my passion and knowledge with aspiring artists. But my artistic soul craved more. In pursuit of my dreams, I travelled the world painting murals and I have just recently returned from an 18 month mural expedition of South and Central America. I create distinctive art pieces that burst with energy and vibrancy. Each stroke on the wall brings my vision to life with an explosion of texture, colour and love.
