Illustrations for Home of Carlsberg
I was commissioned by agency 'Event' to create 7 illustrations for the 'Home of Carlsberg' brewery visitor centre in Copenhagen.
The suite of illustrations tells the story of Carlsberg founder J.C. Jacobsen and is part of a wider exhibit designed by Event.
The illustrations were designed in the style of stained glass windows and the proportions match those of the original brewery windows. They have been printed onto vinyl, and illuminated.
I am a freelance illustrator and graphic artist from Manchester. I have over 20 years' experience, in which time I have worked for such clients as Carlsberg, Lacoste and Live Nation.
Much of my illustrated work tells a story, either about a place, a person or an organisation. I relish the challenge of storytelling through graphics and always enjoy the research involved in ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of the story that I am portraying.
The work is often very detailed and contains visual references that help draw the viewer in and engage with the work.
Projects I have worked on include:
Murals for offices, festivals and public spaces;
Vinyl window graphics;
Editorial illustrations for magazines and reports;
Album covers and band merchandise;
Infographics and data visualisation;
Icons and logos;
Assets for animation;
Beer glass design;
Exhibition & event graphics;
Hand-drawn doodling;
Stained glass design;
Presentation design;
Personalised prints & birthday cards;
Temporary tattoos;
Graphics for clothing
I work predominantly with vectors (scalable digital artwork), but also have experience with hand-drawn techniques, and I am a keen doodler.
