Daily Beverages Late Night Edition by Samuel Gethi in Nairobi
Daily Beverages Late Night Edition
Daily Beverages Late Night Edition is a sub-series within the broader conceptual drink branding project that shifts focus from daytime productivity culture to the emotional logic of night-time consumption. This edition reimagines alcoholic beverages specifically brandy and two wine varieties as fictional, emotionally-coded products designed for introspection, release, and cognitive slow-down.
The series maintains the same satirical product design language as the main Daily Beverages collection, but moves into a quieter, more reflective register. Each drink is positioned as a “night protocol” rather than a leisure item framing alcohol as part of emotional processing, memory distortion, and post-social decompression rituals.
Through minimalist label design, controlled typography, and mock luxury branding, the work explores how night-time drinking culture often overlaps with solitude, overthinking, delayed emotions, and informal coping systems. The tone remains satirical, but more subdued highlighting how consumption shifts from productivity-enhancement in the day to emotional negotiation at night.
The Late Night Edition expands the Daily Beverages universe into a complete daily cycle system, reinforcing the idea that emotional states can be branded, categorized, and marketed as consumable experiences.
Meet the Artist
Nairobi, KenyaI'm a Kenyan illustrator, animator, and visual storyteller working at the intersection of satire, culture, and design. My work is driven by a simple belief: the most memorable ideas are the ones that make people laugh, think, or do both at the same time.
Professionally, my background spans data systems, operations, and visual communication, which gives me a unique approach to creative work. I enjoy taking complex concepts—whether they're social issues, business ideas, cultural observations, or technical subjects—and translating them into visuals that are clear, engaging, and full of personality.
My creative practice includes illustration, character design, editorial and satirical artwork, animation, motion graphics, branded content, infographics, and narrative-driven visual storytelling. I'm particularly drawn to projects that blend humor with insight, whether that's creating original characters, designing culturally inspired artwork, developing animated content, or crafting visuals that spark conversation.
Much of my inspiration comes from everyday life in Kenya, internet culture, gaming, technology, absurd humor, and the strange ways people navigate modern society. I love observing small details, exaggerating them through art, and turning them into stories that feel both familiar and unexpected.
When I'm not illustrating, I'm usually developing personal projects under my creative brand, Kesi Baadaye, exploring experimental animation concepts, creating satirical visual series, or finding new ways to combine art, storytelling, and technology.
Clients work with me because I bring both creativity and structure to every project. I'm comfortable moving from rough concepts and sketches all the way to polished final artwork, and I care deeply about creating visuals that are not only aesthetically strong but also communicate effectively.
Whether you need custom illustrations, character designs, editorial artwork, animated content, infographics, branded visuals, or creative storytelling, I aim to create work that leaves a lasting impression—and maybe earns a laugh along the way.
