Bows & Ribbons (2023) is a sculpture made from felt and glass, completed with ultraviolet resin, stainless steel chains, and ribbons. The castle resides three puppies wearing ribbons on the heads or neck. The castle floats on colourful clouds with a piece of crystals, a colourful teddy bear, and ribbon cluster hanging under them. It comes with its hanging device for installation. The title plays with the phrase 'bows and arrows' by replacing 'arrows' with 'ribbons', promoting peace and going against violence. With the exponential advancement in technology, increasingly accessible information means it is easier to spread misinformation. Of course, we blame it on the user, not the tool, but if we do not learn how to discern what is 'right', 'wrong' and 'in-between', our judgment and actions might lead to undesirable consequences. With the bows and ribbons representing our strong connections with one another, an accumulation of tiny wrong moves will cause these bonds to become fragile and eventually break apart.
