For my third commission at the hostel in San Vito Lo Capo, I was tasked with creating a psychedelic-inspired mural for the bar area. The result is a captivating, surreal piece that merges cultural symbolism with cosmic wonder.
At the center of the mural is a Japanese lady, her face designed as an optical illusion with two overlapping faces, evoking a sense of duality and intrigue. She holds a vibrant Japanese fan and umbrella, floating effortlessly in a stunning space scene filled with swirling pink and blue dust clouds, suggesting the beauty and mystery of the cosmos.
Paying homage to the hostel owner’s playful self-perception as a pirate, I framed the cosmic centerpiece with intricate geometric patterns designed to look like burnt edges of a treasure map, adding texture and narrative to the composition.
The mural, painted with acrylics, measures approximately 1 by 1.5 meters. Its bold colors, delicate details, and surreal imagery create a mesmerizing focal point for the bar, blending themes of adventure, culture, and imagination in a way that invites guests to lose themselves in its story.
I'm a mural artist and portrait illustrator with a passion for bringing spaces to life through art. With a background in fashion design, I have been creating stunning graphite portraits and vibrant wall murals since 2018. My work spans a variety of mediums and is influenced by my experiences across different creative fields. As a traveling mural artist, I love weaving local botanicals and cultural elements into my pieces, ensuring each artwork resonates deeply with its surroundings. Let’s collaborate to transform your space into something extraordinary!
