I came across Shauna’s artwork and was instantly drawn to it. When I found out she lived locally to our church, it honestly felt like the perfect fit and it truly was. From the very start, the process was a joy. Agreeing on the design concept was such a pleasant experience. Shauna was patient, collaborative, and full of creative ideas. Her communication throughout was excellent, and everything ran so smoothly. Once work began, she was transparent every step of the way, keeping us regularly updated and even involving our youth church to teach them some painting techniques, which was such a lovely touch. She was open to feedback, made adjustments quickly and without any fuss, and even went above and beyond by painting extra panels and pillars on the front of the building, completely unprompted! The finished piece exceeded all our expectations. Shauna is an incredibly talented artist, and working with her was a real pleasure from start to finish. I love sketching a performance in front of a live audience, transcribing the scene to a blank sheet of A3 paper in front of their eyes - using only pencils. Magic! Portraits are hand-painted in acrylic on linen board, passing through my own lense to become colourful interpretations of the reference photos with a strong sense of composition. I keep you updated throughout the process to make those little tweeks that make all the difference to the final piece. Illustrations are developed with the client via good communication, so I provide 2 rough drafts and the opportunity to sign off the final piece before the artwork is sent in its digital form. Drawing is my passion, and I love to share it with anyone who wants to try. In my workshops I engage with each participant at their own skill level, encouraging each person to challenge themselves and work towards their own objectives within a group setting.
