Love painting with oils on canvas, drawing, sketching and illustration. In terms of size, the smallest acceptable canvas is 30x40cm, the largest is up to 100cmx90cm. I love painting cityscapes and landscapes, portraits and abstracts. I'm very versatile and experienced, having been doing this for quite a while. I love sending updates and progress pics but I'm happy for you to set the level of communication required. Above all else, love jobs where I can be imaginative and creative to bring ideas life. I will always provide a free quote before starting work, which details everything included, such as materials, labour, delivery cost &c. In terms of budget: terms are a 20% deposit for the initial design (i.e. the drawing, for example on canvas) and I require the 80% outstanding amount to start painting. I calculate the quote based on cost of materials, labour and BAA's cut + tax, so as a rule of thumb, the larger and more complex the project, the higher the cost and vice versa. When your project is complete you can decide whether to have it delivered or pick it up from my studio at Bighouse Arts. An oil painting can literally last for centuries and it represents the best of us, the finest emotions, experiences, memories and feelings in life; it is a beautiful object to treasure for many years to come. I had a vision of having all of us boys (brother, father, grandfather and myself) all placed together in a loving portrait. I searched for the right artists for many months that I felt who would work with me during all stages of the work and who I thought would give justice to the art work. My grandfather, who I never met, passed away a few days after I was born. He served his country during WW2 and was lucky to make it back home, when a lot of his mates did not. My father enlisted and he too protected this country and was lucky on so many occasions. So, this art work was not only important to me, but to my family. I wanted a piece that will live through time and tell a story to future generations of our family. To honor my Grandfather and Father. Kirsten's work is nothing short of amazing and spectacular. She gave life and meaning to this piece. It is such a privilege that I was able to find Kirsten and for her to accept and take on my vision. Kirsten was always keeping me abreast of all stages throughout the making of this piece. Each stage I could tell was so carefully nurtured by Kirsten, that I am astound by her talent. Kirsten was so easy to work with, so easy to communicate my thoughts on how I wanted the piece to, and the final product is perfect. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an artist who would do so much justice to your portrait/piece. Kirsten's talent cannot just be described in words. Her works demonstrates what she is capable of and and how much care and devotion she places within it. I look forward to working with Kirsten again in the very near future for further pieces that I have in mind. Thank you so much Kirsten. Every idea I had he helped incorporate into the project to make it a one of a kind. Our Prince has now left us, but his painting is the best way to immortalise his memory.
