I fell in love with art through comic books. I would draw and write my own stories, leading me to study it in both high school and college. I work mostly in pen, brush and India ink, often coloring or painting those illustrations digitally, sometimes in watercolor. I also dabble in acrylic and oil paint for large pieces. For me, art is more interesting when there is experimentation. I have been trained to focus on draftsmanship as the essence of successful art making, but in my time making art, I find there's a lot to be said for the emotional experience one has when looking at the art. So, with that I tend to try and bring an impressionism to the piece that appeals to a viewer's emotional side along with a strong drawing foundation that appeals to the logic brain.
