This was made for a patch on one of the character illustrations for Mission Horizon. A parody of Starbuck's was the artist's brief and this was the final approved design. The illustration was created completely digitally using Adobe Illustrator.
Meet the Artist
New York, United StatesI fell in love with art through comic books. I would draw and write my own stories, leading me to study it in both high school and college.
I work mostly in pen, brush and India ink, often coloring or painting those illustrations digitally, sometimes in watercolor. I also dabble in acrylic and oil paint for large pieces.
For me, art is more interesting when there is experimentation. I have been trained to focus on draftsmanship as the essence of successful art making, but in my time making art, I find there's a lot to be said for the emotional experience one has when looking at the art. So, with that I tend to try and bring an impressionism to the piece that appeals to a viewer's emotional side along with a strong drawing foundation that appeals to the logic brain.
