I am a second-generation painter & sculptor. My life has been dedicated to the arts from early childhood. Although I consider my life in the arts & the early training I gained from my parents the foundation of my skills, I also have a Master's degree in Fine Art & intend to defend my PhD this year. The subject of my dissertation is the art of the Dutch Golden Age with a focus on Rembrandt's materials & techniques. Many portrait painters & muralists working today do not have training in drawing & use projectors instead, even offering photographs in place of preparatory sketches when selling murals, since their only job is filling in traced images. My aesthetic philosophy is that the only chance for 'art' to slip into the process of design & execution is by working freehand. My long experience includes a great variety projects & a vast array of materials in painting, sculpture, & printmaking. I can paint from photographs but am also willing to travel for the opportunity to work from life, & of course, to paint murals. I take commissions & also have studio work available for sale. I have standardized prices for portraits, from $1200 for a life-size head-&-shoulders to $15,000 for a full-length life-size figure. This Site asks for a square meter price for murals but it isn't applicable since prices for murals depend on the design & the number of square meters. The paintings you can see on this website are a tiny selection of what I have executed in my life, & a small sampling of works I have available for sale.
