White Daffodils Still Life
Acrylic and oil pastel on paper
2026
This original still life of white daffodils was painted during a period of grief, serving as a reflection on finding light and life in difficult moments. The daffodils were initially painted from observation, then abstractly evolved through experimentation and play. They capture the feeling that from the grey can come light, using soft whites and yellows alongside deep, expressive tones. Layers of acrylic and oil pastel build texture across the paper, with loose, gestural marks allowing the flowers to move beyond a literal representation.

Alongside her studio practice, Alex is recognised for her live painting and guest portrait experiences at weddings, luxury events and private celebrations, where she creates bespoke watercolour illustrations in real time or abstract works on paper/canvas. Her work is rooted in connection, storytelling and creating memorable experiences through art.
Sustainability also plays an important role within her practice, with a conscious focus on minimising waste by recycling materials, eco-friendly packaging and charitable giving through tree-planting initiatives linked to every artwork sale and commission.
