This work was me surrendering to the creative process and letting go of 'the perfect image'. I had planned to paint an olive. But as mistakes happened I let them guide me, rather than resisting and controlling. In the end I think this work is much more interesting than an olive.

Hamilton, AustraliaI have always called Brisbane home and have been painting since childhood. My background is in academic Art History and Philosophy, and I have 10 years experience in painting. My passion lies in translating the unknown, a potentially futile attempt that will last a lifetime. I have 14 painting commissions under my belt ranging from portraits to landscapes and still life. I'm a self taught artist and have been actively studying (and working) for the past 7 years. On the side I have worked in customer service and marketing.
My area of comfort is abstract portraiture and figure work, but I love new creative challenges! My range of interest in style, technique and medium is broad.
