Eat Your Heart Out (2025)
This work was inspired by Francisco Goya's 'Saturn Devouring his Son' (1820). I've braved darker themes and this work marks a departure from exclusively light subject matter or colours. The waves emerged as I was painting and I begun to think of the Birth of Venus, particularly her light and romantic depictions. I wanted to capture here the contradiction of being a woman, the beauty and the horror. Self mutilating themes arose, creation and destruction. Grand, eternal anguish.

Meet the Artist
Hamilton, AustraliaI have always called Brisbane home and have been painting since childhood. My background is in academic Art History and Philosophy, and I have 10 years experience in painting. My passion lies in translating the unknown, a potentially futile attempt that will last a lifetime. I have 14 painting commissions under my belt ranging from portraits to landscapes and still life. I'm a self taught artist and have been actively studying (and working) for the past 7 years. On the side I have worked in customer service and marketing.
My area of comfort is abstract portraiture and figure work, but I love new creative challenges! My range of interest in style, technique and medium is broad.
I have experience in:
- Canvas painting (portrait, landscape, still life, figure, abstract)
- Digital art/ NFTs
- Murals
- Ceramics (mostly painting)
- Furniture upcycling
- Sewing, fabric painting, cyanotype (sun printing), and clothing upcycling
- Curating & exhibiting
- Set design
