Protectors of the Bay by Sean Thomas Bell in Newcastle
Protectors of the Bay
This mural was commissioned by Port Stephens Council in 2020. It is in Nelson Bay, on the Port Stephens Visitor Information Centre building.
The mural was Sean's interpretation of the two headlands that protect the bay, that being Mount Tomaree and Mount Yacaaba in an abstract stylised manner.
Meet the Artist
Newcastle, AustraliaSean is an Australian Graphic Designer and self-taught Artist. Sean’s work is about how our minds capture moments in time, and our memories betray these thoughts in unusual ways sometimes. Straying from the truth of how these sceneries may have actually occurred. Sean’s work is an insight into one’s thought process in how an individual may interpret their relationship with the outside world. In particular, their intake of natural elements, and the large mass of different terrains the world holds within it.
