Coastal lines

This mural was inspired by the shapes and forms found on the local coastline of Merewether Beach (within walking distance from this location). The budget was tight and no room for a fresh undercoat of paint. I was left with trying to make a freshly painted mural fit within a faded purple wall that was painted over 20 years ago. I approached this by using a textural brush that would leave marks and a transparent roughness to the colours. Helping the mural blend in with the wall, making it all feel old and fresh at the same time.
