The Oasis Within

The original sketch for this mural came from combining a bunch of photos and from memory after one of Sean’s hikes through the bushland behind his home in Cardiff, Lake Macquarie, NSW Australia. The brief for this project was to make the artwork feel like one with the surrounding environment. With succulents sitting within terracotta pots, within an overall rustic-looking area, Sean wanted this mural to feel as if it had been here all along, giving it a textural finish along with removing some of the paint to help make it fade into the wall. This mural is located in a beautiful courtyard hidden away out the back of the cafe, as soon as you enter it has a calming feel to it, creating an oasis within itself.
