Newcomers and indigenous mural for Centre for Newcomers

Commissioned mural for Centre for Newcomers lobby. Date: Summer 2021 Materials: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 5ft. X 7ft. Proposal won by indigenous artist Kalum T. Dan and myself from 100+ artists. It is an acknowledgement of our location in treaty 7 land as well as welcoming the newcomers perspective of what it is to live in Canada to make newcomers feel welcomed. It is also a recognition of many newcomers who came from all corners of the world to make Calgary a new homeland to build a future in Canada.
