Proposal won by indigenous artist Kalum T. Dan and myself from 100+ artists.
It is an acknowledgement of our location in treaty 7 land as well as welcoming the newcomers perspective of what it is to live in Canada to make newcomers feel welcomed. It is also a recognition of many newcomers who came from all corners of the world to make Calgary a new homeland to build a future in Canada.

Meet the Artist
Calgary, CanadaI am a Calgary based visual artist and muralist. I’m a self-taught artist since 2001 and have explored many mediums and techniques since then. From acrylic painting, oil painting and even body painting. My art is influenced by many cultures, its colours, stories, landscapes and my Mexican background. I’m passionate about painting murals because they cause a big impact on connecting and engaging communities and brightens spaces making them more welcoming to be in.
