Diversity mural project by Chris Olguin Art in Calgary

Diversity mural project

Diversity Community Mural painted in 2020. Size: 660 sq.ft. Material: Outdoor paint on concrete wall. Chosen as a leading artist for this commisioned mural. This mural celebrates diversity from all members living Ramsay’s community co-op housing. This mural help bring a sense of identity to the members living in this co-op housing and bring awareness to surrounding communities of what this co-op housing is about by raising conversations during the painting process. This mural was of great meaning to the community members as it also acknowledged the healing process for members survivors of residential schools. It was a very special experience as members from the community also took part and painted their hands in a mural section. Chosen from a competitive proposal application this was a collaboration with indigenous artists Kalum T. Dan and Jared Tailfeathers.
