Nana Buluku – A Psychedelic Tribute to the African Creator Goddess This personal project was a deep dive into the spiritual and fantastical possibilities of my Ghanaian heritage—a chance to visually explore Nana Buluku, the revered African goddess and creator of the universe. Through this piece, I sought to bring light to the rich spiritual lore of West Africa while expanding the creative possibilities of how African identity can be envisioned in contemporary art. Despite the speed digital tools provide, I dedicated days to meticulously refining every detail—balancing the intensity of colour, pattern, and line work to ensure the artwork wasn’t overwhelming but instead captivated both eyes and hearts. Every intricate element was carefully considered to draw viewers into her story, sparking curiosity and inspiring them to delve into the mythology that has shaped generations. Beyond being an homage to Nana Buluku, this piece represents something deeply personal: the power of reimagining the future through fearless creativity.
