Meeting of Minds by Elizabeth Eve King in Barcelona
Meeting of Minds
In 2000, I painted the landmark mural, Meeting of Minds at Mercado La Paloma, 131’ x 44’, a mural that the Los Angeles City Arts Commission continues to maintain. The mural has appeared on calendars and in films. It was designed to portray a marketplace as an ideal world, and there are over seventy recognizable figures in it, including: Nelson Mandela, Elenore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer, Ann Frank, Gandhi, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. and forty local community heroes (children included) among them.

I've worked as an artist-in-residence in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sarajevo and Bosnia and was an advisor to the J. Paul Getty Museum and Science Center and headed their Arts & Science Development Program.
I have received various international and national fellowships for art and environmental research projects. My work has been displayed in over 100 galleries and shows and I was represented by the Los Angles Museum of Modern Arts Sales & Rental Gallery
Among my fellowships are two International Tides Painting Fellowships and two Earthwatch Fellowships. I was recipient of the Bermuda Artists in Resident masterworks in 2015. Iserved as Science and Art Coordinator with the Global Children’s Organization (GCO), working in a Bosnian summer camp for war orphans.
My landmark mural, A Meeting of the Minds (121’ x 33’) can be seen on Mercado La Paloma in Los Angeles.
I have painted murals in Spain, Italy, Mexico and California.
