Man in the Centre
Depicting a local of Alice Springs where the artist stayed to paint some murals, the artwork shows a very natural portrait on a background of the Alice Springs landscape. The piece is also abstracted with two circles and a line making an almost invisible smiley face in the piece. The piece is acrylic on canvas paper.
Size: 15cm (W) X 20cm (H)
Meet the Artist
Melbourne, AustraliaI’m an artist based in Melbourne painting murals and studio work for the last 10 years. I have painted murals in 6 different countries. I have completed work for Maribyrnong City Council, Mitchell Shire Council and have even had a wall permanently conserved in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I have had three solo exhibitions in Melbourne at Brunswick Street Gallery, Off The Kerb Gallery, and Neon Parlour since 2018 and a duo show in Brisbane in 2015. I obtained a Bachelor of Architectural Design from the University of Queensland in 2015 but my desire to be a painter was so strong that I have focused on art ever since. I have completed numerous commissions for murals and paintings for a wide variety of private clients since this time. My mature work is driven by an interest in human anatomy, psychology, technology, art history and philosophy. I am inspired by surrealism, naturalism, expressionism, post-Impressionism and precisionism, but prefer to operate outside the confines of genre. The emphasis on landscape and sky in my work is a homage to my childhood growing up in rural Victoria.
