This double mural was completed in the artists home town and was a homage to the landscape and bird life of the area. The piece celebrates the town’s iconic boulders and yellow-grassed summer. The piece was done with brushes and commissioned by the Mitchell Shire Council in 2022.
I’m an artist based in Melbourne painting murals and studio work for the last 10 years. I have painted murals in 6 different countries. I have completed work for Maribyrnong City Council, Mitchell Shire Council and have even had a wall permanently conserved in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I have had three solo exhibitions in Melbourne at Brunswick Street Gallery, Off The Kerb Gallery, and Neon Parlour since 2018 and a duo show in Brisbane in 2015. I obtained a Bachelor of Architectural Design from the University of Queensland in 2015 but my desire to be a painter was so strong that I have focused on art ever since. I have completed numerous commissions for murals and paintings for a wide variety of private clients since this time. My mature work is driven by an interest in human anatomy, psychology, technology, art history and philosophy. I am inspired by surrealism, naturalism, expressionism, post-Impressionism and precisionism, but prefer to operate outside the confines of genre. The emphasis on landscape and sky in my work is a homage to my childhood growing up in rural Victoria.
