Flying Birds by Gazelle Mka in Portsmouth
Flying Birds
For this creation, I started by painting a bold, thick acrylic frame on the wall, giving it a strong, defined boundary that would serve as a backdrop for the flying birds. The silver leaf added a metallic touch, giving the birds a sense of movement and lightness as they seem to take flight within the frame. I chose the silver leaf because it reflects light in a way that brings the birds to life, making them appear almost ethereal against the contrasting dark frame. The combination of the acrylic frame and the shimmering birds creates a dynamic visual that draws the eye and adds a sense of freedom and elegance to the room. It feels like a subtle yet striking focal point, infusing the space with both strength and grace.
Meet the Artist
Portsmouth, United KingdomPassionate about creating immersive spaces, I find inspiration in the harmony between aesthetics and functionality. With a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design from the University of Portsmouth, I thrive on transforming concepts into visually compelling and practical environments.
I love exploring textures, materials, and artistic techniques—from watercolor patinas to geometric wall paintings with gold leaf details. My work is a fusion of fine art and spatial design, whether sketching on glass with oil markers or painting large-scale murals.
What excites me most about creating is the ability to tell a story through design. Every project is an opportunity to evoke emotions, enhance spaces, and bring ideas to life. I take pride in my keen eye for detail, adaptability, and innovative approach to problem-solving.
Let’s create something extraordinary together!
