Dude That fire alarm needs to stop
2023. Electric green conquers the field of vision as the fire alarm screams for attention. But at 7:30am I still contend that’s too early to be screaming. As I’m half awake and can only see green. blind.
This painting is part of a series depicting synesthetic experiences to mundane sounds. Visualising the colours I experience when being immersed within these sounds. Dude! That fire alarm needs to stop is a depiction of my synesthetic response to a fire alarm. The alarm could occupy a larger space. But restricted to this canvas, it allows a window into the experience. Obstructing ones vision with green.

Christchurch, New ZealandI am a passionate artist based in Christchurch, and I have just completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours. I excited by exploring and experimenting across a diverse range of mediums. Throughout art school, I've embraced unconventional approaches, blending techniques from various creative fields to challenge artistic norms. Driven by curiosity, I have been researching and drawing inspiration from art history, anthropology, and philosophy. This intellectual foundation has helped me to create interplay between concept and execution. I'm excited by my rich knowledge of skills and insights into artistic expression, to which I believe will assist me in the future with my visual creativity.
