Dare To Become is one of my favourite pieces which I painted in 2021 during the Pandemic, as part of my wider BLACK X BOLD series, which celebrates femininity and womanhood in all of its beautiful and diverse forms. This piece champions stepping in to being who you truly are and allowing the world to see the unique individuality you possess. From the monochromatic palette to the defiant but alluring glare of the subject, it is such a confident and rousing piece. Every time I look at it, I beam with such pride as it truly embodies and evokes such inner confidence and self-belief. Whenever I am having a questioning moment or feeling self doubt, it reminds me of all the strength and resilience I possess inside - and hopefully it does the same for all those who engage with the piece!
