Early this year, I had the pleasure of visiting Hayden Gundry's exhibition at Newtown Black Coffee, and I must say, it was a truly remarkable experience. Gundry’s talent in printmaking, particularly his linocut techniques, shines brightly in his artwork. The portraits he carved are not only gorgeous but also resonate with a deep emotional complexity. Each stroke captures subtle expressions that evoke feelings and connect with the viewer on a personal level. Each piece showcases his incredible attention to detail and creativity, making it clear that he is a highly skilled artist. What stood out to me were his innovative designs, which seamlessly blend artistic expression with the culture of skateboarding. His skateboard grip tape art adds a unique dimension, appealing not only to art lovers but also to the skate community. Overall, Gundry's work left a lasting impression on me, and I sincerely hope to see more of his artwork in Wellington and beyond. He’s undoubtedly an artist to watch, and I look forward to what he’ll create next.

About
The majority of my artwork is extensively detailed and I take great pride in maintaining a high standard of work as well as continuous personal progression. Currently my artwork and process involves restoring, painting and applying custom grip tape art to second hand longboard decks. My main art styles are black and white realism and grunge pop. I am itching to get my style out on the street!
